International Day of the Icelandic Horse on May 1st

To celebrate the Icelandic Horse, a varied programme will be held around Iceland between April 29th to May 1st.
The programme includes riding demonstrations at Víðidalur horse centre in Reykjavik, a youth and horse show at Víðdalur for the young with free entry, and a horse breeding show at Fákasel horse centre in South Iceland to name a few of the events.
The Icelandic horse day is organised by members of the Icelandic horse community in a new marketing initiative to increase the value of the Icelandic horse, strengthen its image around the world and create a strong brand: Horses of Iceland. Fifty-one parties are involved in the four-year project.
